Tips for Removing Gum From Carpet

If your cleaning company is responsible for carpet spotting or overall carpet cleaning, you are eventually going to run across gum that is smashed into the carpet fibers. You may be cleaning up just a piece or two or if you are cleaning the carpet in a school or bowling alley, you may be removing gum every few feet. So is there a fast, easy way to remove these rubbery pieces of goo?

Begin by using a bone scraper and gently, but firmly scrape up as much of the gum as possible. This may remove the bulk of the gum, but don’t forget you still need to remove any sticky residue that remains. For any pieces remaining, use a product such as Unbelievable Goo D-solv-r Pro (from Core Products).

Spray the chemical on a white blotting cloth and then blot the gum - do not spray it directly on the gum or the carpet. Once you have removed the gum rinse thoroughly with hot water. This will remove any of the chemical that is left on the carpet and help to prevent it from resoiling. Some people have found that after using the bone scraper they can use a volatile dry solvent and hot water in their extraction machine to remove any remaining pieces of gum. The heat helps to soften the gum and remove any remaining residues. Or you can use a citrus gel, which is a non-volatile dry solvent. Just remember that you’ll need to rinse the citrus gel to remove any residue. No matter which process you decide to use, do not apply too much chemical.

Another way to remove gum is to “freeze” it. Fill a plastic bag with ice and rub it over the gum. Then chip away the frozen pieces with your bone scraper. After removing the pieces of gum you will still need to use your extractor to remove any remaining residue. There are also aerosol sprays on the market that will “freeze” the gum. Use these products with caution, as they can damage the carpet fibers. The process you use will naturally depend on how much gum you need to remove. If the area is heavily caked with gum it may be easier to use a bone scraper and then a good solvent with an extraction machine as opposed to the time it would take to either “freeze” or clean each spot with D-solv-r Pro.

As you are cleaning up the gooey mess from gum, remember to do a thorough job and remove as much of the residue as possible or the carpet will resoil quickly and you may be called back by an unhappy customer who notices the carpet looks dirty!

The Rat Pack

I cannot expect the truth about the Rat Pack and JFK to ever become known. There are lots of first hand accounts that detail Peter Lawford’s involvement with JFK in doing cocaine and all sorts of women. The truth is far more horrific than the dalliances with 14-year old sex slaves in Florida who I met years later when she was a dedicated lesbian. It goes beyond the likes of Satanic leader Anton LaVey or the people above him who were High Priestesses in a hierarchy that includes the Dragons of HRH Nicholas de Vere. One of those High Priestesses told the spies she had working on me that I was “a Machiavellian Prince sent to overturn her Temple”. I did not discover this until a year had passed after I left my short-term membership and research effort in her coven during 1994. This High Priestess had been the last consort for Gary Cooper and she had been sexually active or a leader in the Rat Pack sex rituals in both Vegas and LA.

I was thunderstruck when I heard I was ‘a Machiavellian Prince’. I had no idea! But as time passes I can see she was right about my purpose to ‘overturn her Temple’. My books on history and our governing forces or people have certainly got the potential to do just that if people ever get around to reading all ninety or so of them.

When t comes to media manipulation - there was none better than the white-wash of the singer or crooner of tunes like White Christmas. Bing Crosby enjoyed his sex and these rituals as much as Dean Martin. The drugs they all took lead many of them to a wretched end. Here is a little part of my discourse with my fellow researcher on this particular book.

‘Portuguese Point is the location of the drug-using (Like his brother-in-law JFK) Peter Lawford’s home or cottage that a relative of my sister-in-law lives or lived in. The Earth Energy here is something special and the land moves from time to time. There are so many peacocks that you would be amazed. Frank Vanderlip’s widow lived next to them. He is of supreme importance to the FED, Jekyll Island and other such things. I suspect also a Bohemian Grove connection as well as this most important connection - the lady I talked with in great detail who married the naive man who is related to my sister-in-law - is a secret consultant for JPL.

She got this job after talking to me about all these things. She was working there before that - but not in this most important consultant position to Hollywood and much more.

You know about Jack Parsons and Ron Hubbard I presume.

So - here is what my Vegas Dragon High Priestess told me about Errol Flynn and others she had sex with who swung both ways. This woman was Gary Cooper’s last lover (BTW).

Flynn and Hubbard were sexually involved in rituals with each other. She spoke well of Forrest Tucker having a large penis to rival Errol Flynn who I believe J. Edgar Hoover had the ‘hots’ for as well. I presume the same is true with Sammy Davis and all the rest of the Rat Pack she was involved with.’

I suppose a reader will have to look up my articles like ‘They Eat Your Brains’, ‘The Star-Fire Ceremony’ (which is displayed on a Dragon website of an official nature); and do a lot of research into things like Aleister Crowley and the Hermetic Order of the Golden dawn which was the Rothschild personal coven before they could possibly have a clue as to what I am rambling about at this juncture. If the reader chooses to do this I suggest they put ‘Paris-working’ into their browser alongside Crowley’s name.

Haven’t Done a Business Plan

A Business Plan is the essential document we are all meant to have - right? So why do so many of us not have one?

The principle behind having a business plan is to think strategically about how to grow our business, create new direction and organise our thoughts:

What am I going to do?
Why?
When does it all have to happen?
What resources will I need?
What could get in the way of success?
How can I minimise the chances of that happening?

The principal challenge with traditional business plans lies not in the subject matter or the content, but in their format.

The majority of business plans are static documents, comprised of lists and columns with actions and dates. There is a proportion of the population that like to manage their work in this way - and they thrive on using the traditional business plan format. But the reality is that most entrepreneurs are entrepreneurial (funny that!) - and most entrepreneurs hate using lists! Lists don’t really reflect our way of thinking, creating or managing information.

We need a process that reflects the flexible and dynamic way we approach business. It is this ability that sets us apart from our larger, slower competitors.

The Project Management Approach

The project management based approach to business planning represents information in a much more flexible way, using mind maps or dynamic lists. Essentially your thinking is represented in small and large chunks, and grouped by area or ‘project’.

Let me demonstrate with a genuine example. My whiteboard contains all of my current and planned activities split into 3 areas - this week, medium term and long term.

My overall aims and goals for the business are listed on the right side. These don’t change much - but they are always there in front of me to keep me focused on what is important. The middle of the board contains my longer term projects (3 months or more ), such as developing alliances and approaching magazines to write for articles. The left side contains the major activities to complete this week.

Every Monday I think about what activity needs to happen to progress my medium and long term goals. These go in the weekly side of the board. I also include any other things that need to happen during the week, refreshing each list as I need to. During the week - if new things come up - they go straight up into the appropriate area.

You can use mind maps in a similar way. Put your long term goals in the centre, your medium term goals along each arm, and the detailed activity as the final level. Then cross things off or add new ‘arms’ as things arise. You can group your activities by topic, immediacy or any other way that suits you.

The key difference with this method of managing your work is that

a) It’s always in front of you, not locked up in a drawer,
b) it’s easy to add and subtract from the plan as you go, and
c) it’s actually practical and fun to work with

You still need to think strategically, and be organised about your work. But you don’t need to feel guilty about not having a “traditional business plan!

If you’re not a ‘list’ person, give this method a try. I think you’ll get a lot more out of it.
